How Many Slices in a Little Caesars Pizza? 8 — Here’s Why
A standard 14-inch round is cut into 8 slices — the same whether it’s Classic, Hot-N-Ready or ExtraMostBestest®. Detroit-Style Deep Dish is 8 rectangular pieces, four of them corners. Thin Crust is party cut into squares, usually 16. Below: the numbers behind each, and how many pizzas you actually need for your group.

Slice count by pizza type
Pizza | Shape | Pieces |
|---|---|---|
Classic Round (14″) | Round | 8 |
ExtraMostBestest® (14″) | Round | 8 |
Specialty rounds — 3 Meat Treat®, Hula Hawaiian®, Ultimate Supreme, Veggie | Round | 8 |
Stuffed Crust | Round | 8 |
Detroit-Style Deep Dish | Rectangular | 8 |
Thin Crust | Round | 16 |
Slices-N-Stix® | Round | 4 slices + cheese sticks |
Round pizzas are machine cut to a single pattern, so slices come out close to equal in size and weight.

How many pizzas for your group
Based on 3 slices per adult, 2 per teenager and 1.5 per child, using 8-slice round pizzas.
People | Mostly adults | Mixed adults and kids |
|---|---|---|
4 | 2 pizzas | 1–2 pizzas |
6 | 2–3 pizzas | 2 pizzas |
10 | 4 pizzas | 3 pizzas |
15 | 6 pizzas | 5 pizzas |
20 | 8 pizzas | 6 pizzas |
30 | 12 pizzas | 9 pizzas |
Two adjustments worth making. Round up if you’re serving teenagers — they eat closer to adult portions than most people plan for. Round down if you’re ordering sides, because a Crazy Combo® or a box of Crazy Puffs® displaces roughly one slice per person.
Long events need more than short ones. A two-hour party runs on the numbers above; an all-afternoon gathering needs about 20% more.
Why every pizza has 8 slices
It’s an operations decision, not a coincidence.
Little Caesars is built around Hot-N-Ready — pizzas made in advance and held ready to hand over. That only works if every step is identical every time. One dough ball size, one cutting pattern, one box. Eight wedges from a 14-inch round is the pattern, and it doesn’t change between stores or between toppings.
The trade-off is that you don’t get the slice-size variation of a hand-cut pizza. What you do get is a portion you can plan around, which is the entire point of this page.
Corner piece or middle piece: what the numbers say
The Detroit-Style is baked in a rectangular steel pan with cheese pushed right to the edge, where it caramelises against the metal. Cut into 8, you get 4 corner pieces and 4 middle pieces.
Corner pieces have two caramelised edges each. Middle pieces have one. That’s the whole argument, and it’s why the corners go first.
If you’re feeding a group and want to avoid the scramble, order two Detroit-Styles rather than one — you get 8 corners instead of 4.
Thin Crust is the real exception
Every guide says Little Caesars pizzas come in 8 slices. Thin Crust doesn’t.
It’s party cut, sometimes called tavern cut — a grid of squares rather than wedges, typically 16 pieces from the same 14-inch base. It’s a Midwest convention, and it suits a cracker-thin crust that would flop as a wedge.
What that means in practice:
- Each square is small — roughly 9.6 square inches against 19.2 for a round slice
- Good for kids and grazing, less good as a sit-down meal portion
- Count differently when planning. Two thin-crust squares roughly equal one round slice. A whole Thin Crust feeds about the same number of people as a Classic Round, not twice as many
Ask for a double cut
Little Caesars will cut a pizza into 16 pieces instead of 8 if you ask at the counter. It’s called a double cut, and it costs nothing.
When it’s worth doing:
- Kids’ parties. Half-slices are the right size for small hands and cut down on waste
- Large groups grazing. More pieces means people take smaller portions and the pizza goes further
- Sharing between more people than slices. Twelve people and two pizzas works far better with 32 pieces than 16
- Portion control. Half a slice is an easier stopping point than a whole one
Ask when you order, not after. A Hot-N-Ready already in the warmer is already cut.
Slices, size and calories together
This is where slice count starts to mean something.
A 14-inch round has 153.9 square inches of surface. The Detroit-Style is baked in a 10″ × 14″ rectangular pan — 140 square inches. So the round is about 10% larger by surface area, which surprises most people who assume the deep dish is bigger.
Divide by 8 pieces each:
Area per piece | Calories per piece (pepperoni) | |
|---|---|---|
Classic Round slice | 19.2 sq in | 280 |
Detroit-Style piece | 17.5 sq in | 350 |
A Detroit-Style piece is 9% smaller than a round slice but carries 25% more calories. That works out to roughly 37% more calorie-dense, because the crust is thicker and the cheese runs edge to edge.
Which explains something people notice but can’t articulate: two Detroit pieces fill you up where two round slices don’t. You’re eating substantially more food in a smaller footprint.
Per-slice calories on a 14-inch round: cheese 250, pepperoni 280, veggie 270. Per piece on a Detroit-Style: cheese 320, pepperoni 350.

Pieces per order for everything else
Slice counts get all the attention, but sides are where group orders go wrong.
Item | Pieces per order |
|---|---|
Crazy Bread® | 8 breadsticks |
Crazy Combo® | 8 breadsticks + 1 Crazy Sauce® |
Stuffed Crazy Bread™ | 3 filled sticks |
Italian Cheese Bread | 10 pieces |
Pepperoni Cheese Bread | 10 pieces |
Caesar Wings® | 8 wings |
Crazy Puffs™ | 4 pieces |
Four-N-One™ Stix | 16 breadsticks |
Caesar Dip® / Crazy Sauce® | 1 cup |
The one that catches people out: Caesar Wings come 8 to an order. For a group of ten, one order is a taste, not a course. Crazy Puffs at 4 per order have the same problem — plan two orders per four people if they’re meant as a side rather than a snack.

Sizes that don’t exist
Search results for this question are full of pizza sizes Little Caesars does not sell. Here’s what’s actually wrong out there:
You may have read | The reality |
|---|---|
“Small 14″, medium 16″, large 18″” | The standard round is 14 inches. There is no 16″ or 18″ round. |
“16-inch ExtraMostBestest, 10 slices” | ExtraMostBestest is the same 14 inches, with more cheese and topping. Still 8 slices. |
“Personal 12-inch, 4 pieces” | Not on the current US menu. |
“Small 8-inch, 6 slices” | Not on the current US menu. |
“DEEP!DEEP! Dish, 4 slices” | Retired name — it’s now Detroit-Style, and it’s 8 pieces. |
“Stuffed crust, 10 slices” | 8. |
“The large has 16 slices” | 8, unless you request a double cut. |
“Detroit-Style is about 117 sq in” | It’s 10″ × 14″, which is 140 sq in. |
“The Detroit square is about 8 inches per side” | It’s rectangular, not square. |
A quick way to test any page on this topic: if it still calls the deep dish DEEP!DEEP! Dish, it’s running on information several years out of date. That branding was retired when the product became Detroit-Style Deep Dish.
FAQs
How many slices are in two Little Caesars pizzas?
Sixteen, if both are standard rounds or Detroit-Style. Two Thin Crusts give you 32 party-cut squares, but each is roughly half the size of a round slice.
Is a Little Caesars pizza large or medium by industry standards?
It’s 14 inches, which most chains call large. It sits at the top end of the common 12-inch medium and below a 16-inch extra-large. A 14-inch has around 40% more area than a 12-inch, so the difference is bigger than the two inches suggest.
How many slices should one person eat?
Three is the planning average for an adult. Two is a light meal, four is a full one. For calorie context, three pepperoni slices comes to about 840 calories.
Can I ask for the pizza uncut?
Yes. Ask at the counter when you order. It only works on a made-to-order pizza — anything already in the Hot-N-Ready warmer has been cut.
Does Detroit-Style give you more food than a round?
Less surface area, more food. It has 140 square inches against the round’s 153.9, but the crust is far thicker, which is why a Detroit piece carries 350 calories against a round slice’s 280.
How many pizzas do I need for a group where I don’t know the ages?
Plan on 3 slices each and round up. Ordering one extra pizza for a group of ten costs less than running short, and leftovers reheat well in an air fryer.
